Danger of Doing Evil in God’s Sight

 ·      The entire Bible covers the danger of doing evil in God’s sight.  Israel is God’s chosen son (Exodus 4:22), the 1st to have the opportunity of being rewarded for a life of faith or be chastised for not having faith.

·      Today let’s read the danger of doing evil in God’s sight.  After we’re done, have a fresh perspective of not only avoiding evil, but living a life of faith.

Judges 6:1-6 (NLT)

The Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight. So the Lord handed them over to the Midianites for seven years2 The Midianites were so cruel that the Israelites made hiding places for themselves in the mountains, caves, and strongholds. 3 Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, marauders from Midian, Amalek, and the people of the east would attack Israel, 4 camping in the land and destroying crops as far away as Gaza. They left the Israelites with nothing to eat, taking all the sheep, goats, cattle, and donkeys. 5 These enemy hordes, coming with their livestock and tents, were as thick as locusts; they arrived on droves of camels too numerous to count. And they stayed until the land was stripped bare. 6 So Israel was reduced to starvation by the Midianites. Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord for help.

Psalm 78:62

He gave his people over to the sword; he was furious with his inheritance.

Leviticus 26:21-22 (KJV)

And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

22 I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate.

·      You don't have to go to far to see/read about the compensation of evil.

·      Reading Leviticus 26:14-46 and Deuteronomy 28:15-68 is enough to truly keep the reverent fear of God upon anyone.  Galatians 5:19-26 shares the manifestation of the flesh (not the devil) resulting in not inheriting the Kingdom of God.  Also shares walking in the spirit, having a union, oneness with Almighty God (1 Corinthians 6:17).

Nehemiah 9 (NLT):26-30

“But despite all this, they were disobedient and rebelled against you. They turned their backs on your Law, they killed your prophets who warned them to return to you, and they committed terrible blasphemies. 27 So you handed them over to their enemies, who made them suffer. But in their time of trouble they cried to you, and you heard them from heaven. In your great mercy, you sent them liberators who rescued them from their enemies.

28 “But as soon as they were at peace, your people again committed evil in your sight, and once more you let their enemies conquer them. Yet whenever your people turned and cried to you again for help, you listened once more from heaven. In your wonderful mercy, you rescued them many times!

29 “You warned them to return to your Law, but they became proud and obstinate and disobeyed your commands. They did not follow your regulations, by which people will find life if only they obey. They stubbornly turned their backs on you and refused to listen. 30 In your love, you were patient with them for many years. You sent your Spirit, who warned them through the prophets. But still they wouldn’t listen! So once again you allowed the peoples of the land to conquer them.

Nehemiah 9:26 (KJV)

Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations.
