Labored in vain, Isaiah 49:4

Rose early this morning to quickly dive into fellowship with Jesus and surrendered myself (Ephesians 5:24) at the Cross. Crucified to the world (Galatians 6:14) that He may shine gloriously through me.

Thought of King David in 1 Samuel 25:21 when faced with difficulty, he quoted 'in vain I have taken care of all ... in the wilderness'.

From this I found Isaiah 49:4 and Philippians 2:16 of where I and many of us can relate to.

Isaiah 49:4
Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in empty futility; yet surely my vindication is with the Lord, and my recompense is with my God.

Philippians 2:14, 16
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain

In closing,
The storms of life come (John 16:33) and take to heart what Jesus, the Apostle Paul & James have said to keep our joy or count it all joy.  Psalms 60:11, 108:12 both say "Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man."

Surely our vindication is with the Lord, and our recompense is with our God!  -- Isaiah 49:4
