Let Your Soul Delight Itself in Abundance

 Saints,

In this life we're always chasing something to fill an emptiness deep within.
Praise God, I attest to all in accordance with the Holy Spirit and precious Word of God.  The emptiness is filled in the communion bread and wine of Jesus Himself (John 6:22-58).

Philippians 2:1-4
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, or communion of The Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

John 6:35
And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

Isaiah 55:1-2
“Ho! Everyone who thirsts,
Come to the waters; And you who have no money,
Come, buy and eat.
Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.
Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?

Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.

I don't know much, but I do know the sweet fellowship of the Spirit in having communion is most precious.  I do know when I'm hungry to get some bread and water or juice to welcome His presence where my soul takes the depths of delight in abundance.  Simplicity at its finest.

John 7:37
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, sayingIf any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

Justification is Peace and Resting in the Finished Work

 Saints,
The following scriptures are of great comfort. Having to rest in the finished work of Jesus we have peace with God.  Take comfort with being justified from ALL THINGS!

Acts 13:39 (KJV)
And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Galatians 2:16 (KJV)
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Romans 5:1 (KJV)
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

And by him all that believe are justified from all things...

An example:
Maybe you're presented with a disappointment.  Option A possible fix it yourself.  Option B is to rest in the Lord.  Though Option A sounds very attractive being justified by the works of the law, yet Option B tugs on the heart to simply rest in Jesus you'll discover a peace with God like never before.  So don't be offended.

Psalms 119:165 (KJV)
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Your Light Shall Rise In Obscurity

 Isaiah 58:6-11 (KJV)
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not

Saints,
Praise God!

This devotional focus is on verse 7, 10 and 11.

  1.  To give our bread to the hungry.  If some like me who may not fast all the time, but one thing is for sure.  Locating one who is in need of assistance.  We should have no problem with fasting when its within us all to help anyone in need.  True fasting is summed up in 'giving' for God gave His Best Gift to us all - Jesus.  We should give our Best as well!
  2. Once we've given our Best to helping the poor. THEN SHALL YOUR LIGHT RISE IN OBSCURITY, AND YOUR DARKNESS SHALL BE AS THE NOONDAY!
  3. The LORD shall guide you continually and satisfy your soul in times of drought.  You shall be like a watered garden, whose waters NEVER FAIL!

A story of faith
In 1993 an individual age 21 with zero faith lost his job of about $7 per hour was overcome with great weight on his shoulders of having to look for work again.  Following year got a hold of the peace Jesus offered (Matthew 11:28) and from then the journey of faith took off.

In 2021 the same individual's job ended with a salary 5 times more than 1993.  Yet, this time the individual has such sweet sleep (Proverbs 3:24) with a substance of faith, a title deed, the assurance, the acquired acquisition, a divine guarantee of evidence in God's principles simply work.  And by faith the individual found work again for practicing ancient Biblical principles that stand the test of time.

2 Thessalonians 1:3 (KJV)
We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

James 2:5 (NKJV)
Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

1 John 4:19 (KJV)
We love him, because he first loved us.
